Poll Result: Lee Mead Wins 'Who would you like to see return to the West End' poll!

Over 900 of you have been voting for the last 2 weeks and it has been decided that Lee Mead is the person West End Frame readers want to see return to the West End! A massive thank you to everyone who took time to vote and spread the word about the poll! Also a massive congratulations to the incredible runners up Kerry Ellis, Sheridan Smith, Louise Dearman, Richard Fleeshman & Tamara Wall. Click here to read the write up of Lee Mead & the runners up. Also includes thank you's to Lee's & Kerry's fans.

Check back at the beginning of May when we will be launching our next poll! (giving myself a 2 week break, well deserved)

Here is the countdown of the result with a write up of each performer:

16th Place (Joint)
Ray Quinn & Sienna Miller
1 vote - 0%

Ray Quinn
Most Famous/Recent Theatre Credits: Warner in Legally Blonde (UK Tour), Billy in Dirty Dancing (West End) Danny in Grease (West End)

I have never seen Ray in the West End however he is meant to be great, one of these performers who likes to develop his relationship with the audience. He is currently on tour with Legally Blonde and was last seen in the West End last year and I am sure it won't be long until he is back again!

Sienna Miller
Most Famous/Recent Theatre Credits: Patricia in Flare Path (West End)

When I went to see Flare Path I did not know much about Sienna Miller and was not expecting too much however I have to say she was fantastic! Her character was so deep and I really got into her story, she gave a great performance and must have been so hard to do that 8 times a week.

14th Place (Joint)
Catherine Tate & Matt Lucas
2 votes - 0%

Catherine Tate
Most Famous/Recent Theatre Credits: Various Characters in 24 Hour Plays (Broadway) Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing (West End)

Matt Lucas
Most Famous/Recent Theatre Credits: Thénardier in  Les Misérables, (25th Anniversary Concert at the O2 & West End)

I have not seen either of the actors live in the West End however both were meant to be amazing and I was very surprised that neither of them got more than 2 votes! Catherine tate is starting to do more theatre again However it will be interesting to see If Matt Lucas ever does return to the West End.

11th Place (Joint)
Joanna Riding, Mazz Murray & Robert Lindsay
4 votes - 0%

Joanna Riding
Most Famous/Recent Theatre Credits: Maria Merelli in Lend Me A Tenor (West End) & Mrs. Wilkinson in Billy Elliott (West End)

I think Joanna is an incredible West End actress and I would love her to return to Billy Elliot where she was the best Mrs Wilkinson I have ever seen! She was also incredibly funny in Lend Me A Tenor and I think it is such a shame the show didn't do well and closed early.

Mazz Murray
Most Famous/Recent Theatre Credits: Killer Queen in We Will Rock You for 9 years (West End)

Mazz is also amazing. I do not know she played a role for so long yet kept it so fresh! She never got bored in the role and treated each performance like her first! I would like to see her doing something different, like Donna in Mamma Mia, I also think she would have been a hilarious Paulette in Legally Blonde.

Robert Lindsay
Most Famous/Recent Theatre Credits: Henry in The Lion In Winter (West End)

I saw Robert in The Lion In Winter and he was really great. I am sure he will be in many more West End productions to come.

  1. Now if Lee Mead can still deliver! His albums have been bland. It would be good to see the old Lee back.

  2. Have you ever seen him perform his material live??He is far from bland and his album songs have an entirely different feel when he is performing in concert. I like the 'new' Lee as much as I ever did the old!
